The session will focus on funding opportunities available under the 2024 <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbe.europa.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Circular Bio-based Europe <\/em>Partnership<\/a> (CBE JU).<\/p>\n\n<p>The session includes:<br\/>A technical visit to the Adega Cooperativa de Palmela, a pilot site for the <a href=\"https:\/\/redwineproject.eu\/home\">REDWine<\/a> project (2021-2025, coordinated by AVIPE under H2020 BBI JU);<br\/>A plenary session at Cineteatro S. Jo\u00e3o featuring Pilar Llorente Ruiz de Azua (<em>CBE JU Programme Officer &amp; Scientific Committee Secretariat<\/em>) She will present the funding opportunities in the 2024 call, participation and evaluation conditions, as well as guidelines on how to prepare a successful proposal. There will also be an opportunity to hear testimonials from national <em>stakeholders<\/em>, including members of the <em>BIC <\/em> consortium, successful participants, and a proposal evaluator. It will be possible to ask questions through an <em>online <\/em> tool and interact with other potential applicants on the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbe.europa.eu\/networking-platform\" target=\"_blank\"><em>CBE JU networking platform<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Training for Widening Countries: April 22, tailored to participants from countries like Portugal. <\/p>\n\n<p>For the complete list of topics and conditions, refer to the <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbe.europa.eu\/system\/files\/2024-02\/CBEJU-AWP-2024_amended.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Annual Work Programme 2024<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n<p>The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbe.europa.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\">CBE JU<\/a> is one of nine institutional partnerships under Horizon Europe (HE), involving the EU and the <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/biconsortium.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bio-based Industries Consortium<\/a><\/em> (<em>BIC<\/em>). It supports circular bioindustries, aligning with HE rules while including specific provisions. It operates according to the rules of Horizon Europe (HE), but with some specificities.<\/p>\n\n<p>Portugal has already secured around 7 million euros in the 12 projects selected for funding in the two calls of the CBE JU under Horizon Europe (in 2022 and 2023), which corresponds to more than 2% of the available funding. Regarding the 22 national participants in these projects, notable entities include IST-ID (with 3 participations, including 1 coordination) and Biotrend SA (with 2 participations), with approximately 50% being companies.<\/p>\n\n<p>The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/biconsortium.eu\/membership\" target=\"_blank\"><em>BIC<\/em><\/a> is instrumental in defining the priorities of the Annual Work Programmes of the <em>CBE JU<\/em> It includes members from a wide range of sectors including agriculture, human and animal food, aquatic and marine, chemicals and materials, technology suppliers, forestry and pulp, waste managers, and brand owners. It comprises more than 240 <em>Industry <\/em> (Full) <em>Members<\/em> (large companies, SMEs, clusters) and over 200 <em>Associate Members<\/em> (universities, research institutes, public institutions, technology platforms, regional organizations). From Portugal, the following companies are already part of the <em>BIC <\/em> consortium: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/a4f.pt\/pt\" target=\"_blank\">A4F and AlgaFuel, S.A.<\/a>, and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biotrend.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\">Biotrend S.A.<\/a> (<em>Full Members<\/em>); <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.centi.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\">CeNTI<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ccmar.ualg.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\">CCMAR<\/a>, and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/raiz-iifp.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\">RAIZ<\/a> (Associate Members).
