The National Media Innovation Award, an initiative promoted by ANI, aims to recognise journalistic quality by distinguishing the best work in the area of science and technology-based innovation developed in Portugal (or in relevant partnership with national entities).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Innovation Award on the Portuguese Economy<\/p>\n

ANI aims to bring visibility to academic research carried out in Portugal on innovation and innovation policy, as well as support works that contribute to disseminating innovations originating from companies and R&D entities in Portugal.
<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thus, ANI and the Ministry of Economy’s Strategy and Studies Office (GEE) created in 2017 the Innovation Award on the Portuguese Economy to reward scientific articles that contribute to identifying problems and implementing economic policy solutions in Portugal in the areas of Knowledge-Based Innovation, particularly the Valorization and Transfer of Technology, Collaborative Innovation, and technology-based Entrepreneurship.

Media coverage of science and technology-based \u2018Made in Portugal\u2019 innovation plays a key role in promoting new products, services, processes and technologies developed by players in the National Innovation System, particularly their impact on solving real problems for companies and society, as well as on wealth creation.<\/p>\n

Honouring the best works published in the media in this field unquestionably contributes to the promotion of scientific culture in Portugal.<\/p>\n

The first edition of the National Media Innovation Award 2021-2022 follows on from the vision and mission of the National Innovation Journalism Award (2017-2019). Building on the experience and knowledge acquired through the organisation of the three editions of the National Innovation Journalism Award, this new award seeks to respond more effectively to the specificities of the media landscape in Portugal. <\/p>\n

This initiative aims to reward journalistic quality by honouring the best works on science and technology-based innovation developed in Portugal (or in relevant partnership with Portuguese entities).<\/p>\n
