Nevertheless, in recent years, non-financial support for R&amp;I activities has gained increasing importance in boosting technology-based entrepreneurship, closing gaps in the innovation cycle by overcoming the &#8220;valleys of death&#8221; in technology transfer, and enhancing the impact of investments made through financial support. Innovation agencies are increasingly focusing their promotional activities on these services, driven by a deeper understanding of the concrete needs of companies and other entities. <\/p>\n<p>This Task Force also aimed to determine the main responsibilities and respective competencies that innovation agencies should assume and incorporate in the future to better serve their countries&#8217; innovation systems, complementing European support in the areas of applied R&amp;D and technology-based entrepreneurship.
