It is aimed at professionals involved in scientific and technological innovation systems within companies and higher education institutions. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aim of these sessions is to provide strategic guidance on adapting intellectual property protection to current security requirements, by analysing regulatory aspects and sharing strategies to maximise understanding of foreign partners during standard initiatives to attract foreign investment, export, internationalise and expand into new markets, or when establishing new scientific with foreign entities.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Added value:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adaptation of internal procedures within the context of intellectual property management strategies, ensuring effective protection of intellectual property as well as regulatory compliance in the area of security.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conducting risk assessments to identify potential legal obstacles or strategic risks before exporting or entering into new international economic or scientific partnerships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development of internal strategies to mitigate the risks associated with the unintended transfer of knowledge and technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Course Outline:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><th>Session<\/th><th>Description<\/th><th>Duration (h)<\/th><\/tr><tr><td>1. Geopolitical developments and security intelligence<\/td><td>This session examines the risks and threats to internal security within a changing geopolitical context, outlining the role of the Security Intelligence Service in relation to its mission, modus operandi identified in Portugal, and reporting mechanisms.<\/td><td>2<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>2. The Knowledge Protection Programme (KPP)<\/td><td>An awareness-raising initiative by one of SIS\u2019s outreach programmes, focusing on the protection of critical and sensitive information held by the Portuguese State and of knowledge generated within companies and scientific research organisations. Practical advice is provided on implementing security rules and procedures relating to the physical security of premises, behavioural security whilst travelling, cybersecurity, and security in the recruitment of new staff. <\/td><td>2<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>3. Understanding the unintended transfer of knowledge and technology<\/td><td>This session focuses on presenting legal and strategic frameworks (at national, EU and international levels) and discussing practical case studies that help to identify, assess and mitigate specific risks associated with the unintended transfer of intellectual property.<\/td><td>2<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>4. The licensing of dual-use items in Portugal<\/td><td>A session organised by SIS, with the participation of the Licensing Services Directorate (DSL) of the Tax and Customs Authority (AT), during which licensing procedures relating to foreign trade are presented and discussed.<\/td><td>3<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>5. Research safety<\/td><td>A session organised by SIS, featuring a research security expert, during which a set of best practices in the context of the internationalisation of science will be presented and discussed.<\/td><td>3<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>6.
